About Guides

In Guides, you'll get out there and do something different.

You'll create your campaigns, learn and share new skills and fly down the occasional zip wire. You'll explore new places - Guides go on camps, holidays and trips, enjoy exciting events like our star-studded concert, the BIG GIG and our music festival, Wellies and Wristbands.

Guides have an exciting and varied programme to inspire and challenge girls from 10-14. The Guide programme is simply what you'll do as a Guide - from taking part in many exciting activities at regular meetings to special events and trips away.

You can work towards interest badges in photography, geocaching, human rights and more, develop life skills with skills builders and work hard to earn unique awards like the Commonwealth award, the Guide Gold award and the six theme awards. These awards help you at school and later in life.

Guides will build brilliant friendships, and Guides won't be your average friends. Instead, they'll be the girls who want to go on adventures with you, encourage you to try new things, and celebrate when you've pushed yourself to achieve something special.

As you progress through Guides, you'll have a chance to lead small groups and support younger girls to have fun and make friends. You could even get involved in our leadership opportunities.

You and the girls in your group will decide together what to do in your meetings., choosing from the wide range of badges, skills and activities covered by our six programme themes. So, you can, whether you want to try a new sport, have a go at performing, run a debate, or brush up on your first aid skills.

If there's an issue you care about, Guides is a chance to make a difference. You'll be encouraged to speak out about what matters to you and do something about it.
